I was born and brought up in South Wales and started learning the violin at the age of 9 in Primary School. I progressed rapidly through the ABRSM grades with the guidance of my violin teachers in Bridgend and at the Junior Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff.
I was a prominent member of the Mid-Glamorgan Youth Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Wales before gaining a place at the Royal College of Music in London where I studied the violin with Rodney Friend and Hugh Bean.
At the RCM, I had the opportunity to have masterclasses from the Chilingirian and Smetana String Quartets and became a front desk player in most of the RCM Ensembles and Orchestras. In my final year at the RCM, I became the leader of the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, an orchestra formed with music students from the major music institutions in London.

After graduating from the Royal College of Music, I became a member of the First Violin section in the BBC National Orchestra of Wales.

About Me

After leaving the BBC I became a freelance violinist and went on to work, record and tour with the major orchestras of the UK.
These included the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic, BBC Concert, BBC Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Philharmonia, London Philharmonic, Royal Opera House, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony and Welsh National Opera.
I toured with Shirley Bassey and Johnny Mathis and work in the recording studio included the Harry Potter films.
I currently live and work in Birmingham. My hobbies include cooking, gardening and walking my miniature schnauzer, Archie, at the beautiful Warley Woods.
